Sunrise Little League is a non-profit, all volunteer, youth baseball organization. The Snack Bar is an important part of our community and is our primary source of fundraising for the league. In an effort to keep fees low, one parent will be assigned to work in the snack bar per game.
How the SLL Snack Bar Works
The SLL “home” team during the Spring Season or the "away" team during the Fall Season, is responsible for having a volunteer work in the snack bar during their game. Team Moms usually schedule all shifts for the regular season when schedules are released. (Managers & Coaches typically don’t get scheduled snack bar shifts)
Parents are responsible for coverage of their assigned shift in the Snack Bar. Volunteers can be a parent, grandparent, family member, or “buyout” worker (see below). If no one shows up to work in the snack bar from your team, we will be forced to stop your child’s game until your team provides a volunteer.
The average shift is 3 hours. Shifts end when you are released by the Snack Bar Shift Leader. Shift duties include: to set up, preparing food, barbecuing, sales, restocking, sweeping, moping, general cleaning, etc.
Children are not allowed into the snack bar. Please make childcare arrangements, if needed.
Shift Time
Shifts begin 30 minutes prior to the start of your child's scheduled game and end about 30 minutes after your child's game ends. Your shift ends when the Shift Leader releases you.
Closing Time
The Snack Bar remains open until the last game ends OR “Last Call”, whichever is earlier. The goal is to be cleaned and locked up by 8pm.
Buy Out Program
If parents would rather “buyout” of their shift, they can contact workers from the approved buyout list. Buy Out List Details
